Hi guys,
I'm looking to get some quality 800MB 90min CD-r blank media for the new albums. I can't find any in the USA (except from questionable online media outlet retailers).

Any tips for me?

Thanx

Welcome to the forums

I didn't even know these were available o.O I stick with the standard 700MB/80min or 4.7GB DVD-R's

Good luck, hope you find somewhere reasonable Smile

usually you can "over-burn" a few minutes on a normal 80 min CD-R.

theres is a small tutorial on how to create 90 Minute CD-R here, not sure if its legit, but give it a try:
http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/xcd.htm

i only get results off UK sites, but you can purchase them i guess online as well. I'd use something trust-worthy though like amazon if you did buy them:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0006ISTC2/026-7116843-4090019

hope that helps and welcome to the forums! Smile

Hi raypoo04,

Thanks for the tip! I am using Nero Ultra and Memorex 700MB CD-r media but with every disk I burn I get a lot of skipping at the beginning of each tune. Maybe I need better blank media or perhaps my burner isn't compatible and needs a firmware update.

Thanks again!

meritline.com for low quantities. They are reputable. If you need larger quantities, yesbuy.net. I usually buy them in large quantities from yesbuy.

TaiyoYuden is the BEST media.

Thanks for listing those, Hellfyre.

mazurka, just be careful if you buy the 90min/800MB CD-R's because they MAY or MAY NOT be compatable with your particular type of burner. Go to meritline.com and check the compatability list to see if your burner will handle it!

Suprisingly, mine won't... Shocked

Try reducing the burn speed, doing it at maximum speed tends to make coasters... also try diferent software, you never know, you may have better luck with another.

also try not to keep a lot of programs open while burning. sometimes they can hinder the flow of data to your burner and you can get a buffer under-run (which is bad news, causes skipping, etc) slowing the burn speed will help a lot but if that still doesnt work, try quitting programs.

Yeah 80 min cds do exist but they are rare Gt. I think only a few companies sell them.
