What's the model of your TV card? |
I think it's the Pinnacle PCTV Pro USB. I've read that some people got it to work but I certainly can't. It apparently uses the EM28xx driver from what Ubuntu/Kubuntu is reporting. It's a bugger to get it to work with Mythtv and some people have got it to work in that as well. I'm totally lost here.

I returned it and got myself the Hauppauge WinTv HVR-950 instead. I hear it works with Mythtv which is a bonus and the author who created Mythtv designed it with a Hauppauge card that he owns himself as well, a PCI of course. But the USB versions should work nicely as well seeing as they're pretty compatible in manufacturing.

Yeah according to the Wiki List, it's only partially compatible with some Tv packages but not Mythtv. Mythtv is the best one anyways. _________________ Blueboy  |

Well Lazi, I got video but I can't seem to get any sound. Same problem I had with the Pinnacle. What's up with that? There's got to be a way. I can't believe that there isn't a solution to this. Yes I have read the forums and the docs and not found too much on this at the moment. _________________ Blueboy  |

Ok Lazi, after hours and hours of googling and reading I finally came across a solution. It's not the best one in the least, but for the time being it will do for now. This is what they said I should do:
sox -r 48000 -w -c 2 -t ossdsp /dev/dsp1 -t ossdsp /dev/dsp
Yes it gives me sound but it also gives me a 2 second lag as well. I created a launcher so I wouldn't have to type it everytime in the terminal. If you know a better way around it, please let me know. Thanks. _________________ Blueboy  |

Looks like Di.fm is using AOL.com and Linux too. Interesting.

Hey Lazi, I have a problem with Mplayer. I cannot change the size of the movie even if I specify "Aspect Ratio - 4:3". It's still widescreen. Do you know how to make it full screen like you see on tv? _________________ Blueboy  |

I found out what the scale is. I looked in Media Player Classic v6.4 by Gabest and it says that full screen video for tv mode is 16:9. That's what I use in that program. So my question is can Mplayer do 16:9? If so, how would you set it up in the config or can you do it in the settings of the program itself? _________________ Blueboy  |

Sweet!
If only there were enough of us who are in the music industry (djing, producing, etc) that could band together and get better audio support in Linux... _________________

You need to use magiciso to burn ubuntu iso file to cd. It works out. |

Yeah I know that now. But do you know how I can get Ubuntu Studio to work? Everytime I boot it up, it crashes. It says something about X-Server Desktop not configured correctly or something like that? How can you set it up if it hasn't even booted yet? _________________ Blueboy  |
